how to audience
- make a one minute fleeting pass across this work in the middle of a boring meeting

- pay more attention to the people you are hanging out with than the work itself
- just enjoy spending a bit of time in the OFA Hall, with it’s splendid vibes, perhaps even get lost watching the light change
- leave your laptop on a shelf while making dinner and check it out every now and then
- enter while on three other zoom calls
- talk over the whole thing and leave having only taken in a single moment
- pour yourself a coffee and lurk suspiciously, then leave and go to the bathroom so you exist only as an empty room

About the Work
A Tilting Body of Precarious Maps and Migrant Constellations
The work began as a series of artist-maps created for the exhibition Let us Drink the New Wine Together / Beberemos El Vino Nuevo Juntos in which artists alys longley and Máximo Corvalán-Pincheira facilitated ways for artists to connect together and rewrite our shared world through 2020 and 2021, in the form of artist maps and postal art.
Artist contributions from all continents of the world have developed into a labyrinthine series of interactive, multi-dimensional, sonic and relational worlds. At the end of the November we presented a one-off online performance event in association with a SloMoCo residency, Mapping Future Imaginaries, Concentric Curriculum, BusProjects Melbourne, and Dance Studies, University of Auckland, in a live stream premiere of the interdisciplinary performance work h u m a t t e r i n g.
Happy Hours
We invite friends, collaborating artists and our communities to join us for happy hours (in all timezones in the world) to share performance fragments for the closing of our exhibition at BusProjects (AU).
h u m a t t e r i n g
h u m a t t e r i n g was a performance research event that experimented with bodies as simultaneously singular and collective – as territory and sensorial archive. It moved through performance, text, sound, light, score, improvisation and choreography.
Housed inside a virtual theatre in the image of the much loved Old Folks Association, h u m a t t e r i n g ran as a 12 hour durational live-streamed performance event, in order to make itself available in all time zones throughout the world. Friends, neighbours and strangers from over 15 countries met up inside this digital exhibition, hung out for awhile, and shared some time together while immersed in the art work. h u m a t t e r i n g was simultaneously experienced online and projected in physical space at the Composite Gallery in Melbourne, Australia as part of the Mapping Future Imaginaries exhibition at BusProjects.
